Sarah Sanford b. 1974 in Michigan is an artist printmaker living and working in Santa Cruz, California. She exhibits her work both nationally and internationally including sites such as the Rubicon Gallery, Dublin, Ireland;  Euroart Gallery, London; Edinburgh Printmakers, Scotland; Academy of Art University Gallery, San Francisco; and L A Print Space, West Hollywood, CA.

Sanford holds a Masters of Fine Art in Printmaking from the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland (2003). She has earned several awards and honors, including the Chalmer-Jervise Prize from the Royal Scottish Academy (2003), and serving as the Artist in Residence from 2005-06 at The Edinburgh Academy, UK. She was featured in “The California Printmaker” Journal in 2009 and in 2010 her image, “Mine and Her Hemispheres” became the cover art for the UK band, Thula Borah’s  album, “Mind River Matter.”

Sanford is a lecturer in the Art Department at the University of California Santa Cruz and is a member of the Los Angeles Printmakers. She currently works out of her studio Sunlit Seriagraphs in Bonny Doon, CA. Recently, her work was featured in the international print magazine, E-squared, a magazine that presents new and ground-breaking ideas developed by artists, scientists, engineers and the like. Sanford’s professional practice includes collaborations and studio tours in addition to presenting lectures and workshops at various institutions including the Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop, Scotland; Indiana University, Bloomington; and the Academy of Art, San Francisco.
